So Paul spoke with Jim at HK about he's participation in our trying to put together this Charity Ride on June 18, 2016 for Victory Riders attending Bike Week. So Jim asked that I put the request in writing, which I have done and sent to him. He is going to share it with his Vic Rep, as I understand. He is hoping that HK and/or Victory can get us support of our event. Items to raffle, permission and what not. Ed, you are still checking with Victory.... was that a Vic Rep, or VMC? We have to see if Jim has any details to offer about doing things at the track (as they have some very specific details about doing things there).
Do you think we should ask other dealers in NH as well, for items for a raffle? If so- who to ask? Guess we'll know better if we get the green light for it. I don't mind trying to ask, or to go around to collect items- but I only have until 5/29 to do, as we'll be off to Ga. and the Southeast Rally from 5/29-6/10. But if anyone else want to assist..............
IF we can't set up at the track, do we want to try a plan B? A parking lot somewhere? Walmart? Or the parking lot in Guilford where the demo truck was a few years ago?
Ok, I think that concludes my babbling........................ maybe..........
Howdy folks- SO I checked with Johnson's Steak and Seafood in New Durham. They said it would be no problem to accomidate all of us (they can seat 200+), but of course with that many people eveyone can not expect everyone served at the same time. He'd like us to arrive between the lunch and dinner rushes- so somewhere near 2-3ish would be best. He would like us to call as we get close with ETA and approx. head count. So to that end we are good to go. I haven't heard back from Jim/HK yet. May give him a call later today. Ed have you had a chance to check with your Victory or VMC rep? If we choose to do this, we'll be needing to start posting it, or soon anyway.
HI Ed! So update. Ed has verified with Victory that we can do the ride thingy Bike Week! That's a good thing.....if we can get GSC people to assist to make it happen. I can make calls to some of the NH dealers- but can not run around to pick things up. We can't wait until the 6/13 meeting to solicit raffle items. Are we charging for the ride, or just asking for donations? I'm not trying to be crazy and nagging about this = but if we are going to do it- then some things need to be done and in place before we start to advertise it. The Advertising needs to be done by the first of the June on the VMC. I would start a new thread in the NE section and post it. I'd even post something in the other NE chapters sections. Who would like to reach out and do that? Marketing materials? Ed what did you have in mind? More membership Aps? Do we have membership packets that we could be handing out at the time of the sign up table? Do we give out patches to new members? What is in the new member packet? OMG, never mind.......I'm going to bed.
ME again! We are a GO! for our ride at the Rally. So all hands on deck- who is going to do what to help make this a success.
Needed: someone to go around and collect donated items from NH dealers. (I'm going to send out requests soon) several peeps to man the desk in 3 different capacities. I think we should have separate people doing 1) ride sign up 2)raffle tickets 3)membership details. Probably 2 people at each station. We'll need 2 or 3 tables- a tent, 6 or so chairs. what else?
6/14/16 OK so to follow up from last nights meeting. I went and met with Austin, the Victory Rep, and he showed me where we are setting our tent. A great spot right next to/near HKs small trailer, right next to the Demo trailer. We can go into the track before 9am- so set up would work best to start at 8am- with the truck. All we have to do is identify ourselves as vendors as we enter- throw Austin's (oh and Justin's- NHMS employee) name out there, if we need to. We will be staging for the ride with in eye site of the registration tent. HK has several things for the raffle, and Victory said he had tshirts and old Daytona pins(not sure we want them!). So there ya go- if this is successful, we make some for next year for our little club event! Oh sorry, off track. So we should have enough things for raffle items this time. We could always do most at noon- and then some at Johnson's. Although we won't be very organized at Johnsons. So that may more difficult. So If Paul, Elgie and Ed want to plan on being there for 8am and unload- and any one else come to assist in setting things up by 8:30- that would work great!! m K that should do it, Call me if you have any questions.
